An episode which aired on Monday morning saw the character Penny Polar Bear drawing two female polar bears in dresses alongside her friends.
Peppa Pig has been running since May 2004 and is one of the most popular TV shows for children of pre-school age. Following the airing of Monday's episode on Channel 5, several people took to social media to welcome the LGBT characters, reports the Mirror.
