East Midlands Railway passengers are being urged to check their journey before travelling

, which operates railway services in the county, tweeted details about the incident at around 5:45am on Monday, May 8. The company is warning passengers on routes for Nottingham, Mansfield and Worksop to expect disruption and to check their routes before travelling. A spokesperson for East Midlands Railways said: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train between Mansfield and Nottingham.
"Disruption expected for the next few hours between Nottingham / Mansfield / Worksop, sadly a person has been hit by a train, please check your journey in advance."
