Breaking: A person is in hospital with a serious head injury after a crash on the A1(M) today
A person has been rushed to hospital with a "serious head injury" following a crash on the A1M through Boston Spa.
Emergency services including an air ambulance were called to the scene after 9.30am to a crash on the busy highway in the north Leeds district. West Yorkshire Police attended the scene on the northbound carriageway at Junction 45, which also saw a number of people treated for minor injuries. The highway has been cleared and reopened but there are still reports of long delays. A force spokesperson said: "There were a number of people with minor injuries and one person taken to hospital with a serious head injury, which is not believed to be life-threatening."Highways England has said there are still delays on both sides of the carriageway at Boston Spa.
