Perth and Kinross councillors have unanimously voted to uphold the decision made by PKC's planning department in March this year
A popular Perth venue has had its planning appeal rejected and will have to remove its outdoor terrace.
The appeal statement said: "They have received many positive comments from customers, council officials and the public in general, including many tourists visiting from outwith Perth, on how good the parklet looks and enhances the area giving a very continental look and feel. They have also had positive feedback from wheelchair users who can access the seating area as a result of the level access.
PKC's Transportation and Development Team also raised concerns which included: the ability to maintain gullies; the loss of a taxi rank which once operated from this location, and the ability to access the section of road for upgrades. The roads team supported planning permission subject to condition limiting it to a temporary period.
Cllr Hugh Anderson said: "It's not the most healthy place I'd suggest to sit and have a drink. That's my main concern over this being extended for any length of time."
