Pervert pensioner loses appeal after exposing himself to school girl as she got off bus
A pervert pensioner found guilty of exposing himself to a school girl has lost his appeal against his conviction.
Beattie, of Crow Lane West, Newton-le-Willows, had also been found guilty by the lower court of causing the teenage girl to look at an image of sexual activity involving him showing her a photograph of his penis on his mobile phone. His appeal against that conviction was allowed at an earlier hearing on technical legal grounds.Beattie, 72, was ordered by the judge, Recorder Ian Harris to pay £600 prosecution costs after losing the latest appeal hearing at Liverpool Crown Court.
The trial heard that in early March 2021, the mum of the girl reported to police that her daughter told her she had seen Beattie exposing himself from a front window on a number of occasions over the previous 12 months. “She walked past Beattie’s home and saw him stood in his front window with a phone to his ear," said Shannen Carey, prosecuting. "As she walked past he turned the telephone away towards her and on the telephone screen she saw a clear photograph of a penis.
