Peter Dowd says a maximum 32-hour working week would benefit staff, the economy and the environment.
Employees should be allowed to only work four days a week but still receive full pay, a Labour MP has suggested.
The Merseyside MP said: "All the evidence shows a four-day week with no loss of pay would be good for the economy, good for workers and good for the environment."But Sir Christopher said: "Effectively what he is saying [is] that everybody who is working more than 32 hours a week would be prevented from doing so in the future under the provisions of his bill.
