He's *just* added even more dates this afternoon
Excitement surrounding Peter Kay's return to stand up hit new levels as two million people logged on to Ticketmaster in a bid to get tickets.
Visitors were placed in a long queue system and the vast majority missed out on a chance to see the return of the Bolton funnyman. Starting next month in Manchester, the tour will be his first since 2010. Earlier this week, the pre-sale period caused O2 Priority Moment's website and app to crash under excess demand and the full sale attracted phenomenal interest today. As a result, more dates have now been added to the already extended tour.New 2024 dates at Manchester's AO Arena were added for August 23 and 24, October 18 and 19, and November 1, 2, 29 and 30 and December 20 and 21. Those were added in separate updates so it is not yet clear how many shows will be played in total.
It will be his first live tour since 2010, when he scored the Guinness World Record for the biggest selling run of all time in a figure which is likely to be comfortably cleared this time around. He has been largely out of the spotlight in recent years but returned to the stage in August 2021 for two special charity events to raise money for Laura Nuttall, a then 20-year-old with an aggressive type of brain cancer called glioblastoma multiforme.
