Oscar Piastri is enjoying life with his new McLaren race engineer. 📝 Formula_Nerds F1

Oscar Piastri has admitted that he is really enjoying working with McLaren race engineer Tom Stallard so far in his debut season in Formula 1.

After five races this season, Piastri has performed the best out of the three rookies in 2023. He scored his maiden points at his home race in Melbourne, finishing in 8th. As a driver, developing relationships with key personnel in a team is very important. Piastri’s race engineer is a former Olympic rower who won a silver medal at the Beijing games in 2008. “We’ve been working together really well. He’s got a lot of experience in F1. A lot of experience in elite level sport as well.”“We did a lot of work before the season to make sure we’re speaking the same language and working on the same wavelength. I think we did a very good job of that.”
