Piers Morgan has said he reached out to Sarah Ferguson after her cancer diagnosis
, but her response left the presenter floored. The former ITV Good Morning Britain star has revealed he sent the royal a text after her diagnosis.
Speaking to the sun, Piers said: "It was the first time I’d ever heard her speak about the need to put herself before others, and it took a life-threatening moment to do it." The TalkTV star added: "I’m very glad she is though, because the world’s a better place with a healthy vibrant Sarah Ferguson in it."
A spokesman for the duchess said: "Sarah, Duchess of York was recently diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer detected at a routine mammogram screening. She was advised she needed to undergo surgery which has taken place successfully.
