The benefit will be moved over to a new devolved system.
A new health benefit is set to gradually replace the Personal Independence Payment for those living in Scotland.
The Daily Record reports that those already receiving PIP and Disability Living Allowance from the Department for Work and Pensions do not need to apply for the new benefit.Around 322,387 existing awards will be transferred automatically from DWP to the devolved welfare system in stages. This is part of a managed migration process which is expected to be completed by 2025, according to the newly released Social Security Act 2018: progress report 2021 to 2022.
They have also reassured claimants that payments will be made on the same day and there will be no gaps in payments during the move from PIP to Adult Disability Payment.
