The council is also in conversations with Homes England and the combined authority over funding for the scheme
Controversial plans to build more than 2,000 homes in the Hyde countryside are to go out to public consultation for a THIRD time ahead of a potential decision.
Eventually, proposals for the huge development were scheduled to go before councillors just days before Christmas, at a planning meeting scheduled for December 21.But after National Highways extended a holding direction on the proposals until February of this year, the decision was delayed. And it’s been confirmed the application will go to a third round of consultation before it goes in front of the planning committee.
“Once the project team has finalised responses to the statutory consultees feedback, the application and all addendums will be resubmitted to the local planning authority which will trigger a further 30 day consultation period. A report to the strategic planning and capital monitoring panel stated that of the £10m of Homes England grant funding, £720k has been spent so far.
