It has now been reported she is being given hospice care after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.Lyon, 70, helped to bring female bodybuilding into the public eye, speaking to various publications about the sport and writing a book about women’s weight training, Lisa Lyon’s Body Magic. Her career began after practising Kendo, which led her to turn to bodybuilding to improve her strength.She won the first International Federation of Bodybuilders Woman’s World Pro Bodybuilding Championship in 1979 In 2000, she was inducted into the International Fitness and Bodybuilding Federal Hall of Fame for her work in the sport.
