Police have issued an appeal
Emergency services were called to George Street, next to the Roebuck public house, in the early hours of Saturday morning. A male, in his 20s, had been injured.
The victim is now recovering from his injuries in hospital. Lancashire Constabulary has issued an appeal to anyone who has information about the incident.A 35-year-old has been arrested following the assault, on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm. He remains in custody. A spokesperson for Lancashire Constabulary said: "Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in which a man suffered a serious head injury. The incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning on George Street, Rishton, next to the Roebuck public house.
"The victim, a man in his 20s, is currently being treated at hospital for his injuries. Officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the assault or who has information about it. "A 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of section 18 grievous bodily harm and is currently in custody."READ NEXT:
