The officers from West Midlands Police were stunned - especially when they saw what the motorist was doing
Police have revealed that a suspected drug driver with a balloon in his mouth crashed into them on a major road. Officers immediately arrested the man for multiple offences after the incident on the A45 in Birmingham.
Officers said they were on patrol when another vehicle suddenly rammed them. When the stunned police looked to see what was going on they say a driver with a balloon in his mouth - usually used when taking nitrous oxide. When the officers pulled him over they found a number of items in the car and posted pictures on Facebook and X, formerly Twitter. The officers from the West Midlands Traffic team said: “We were in lane 2 of the A45 when the car in lane 1 suddenly swerved into the side of our car, only for us to turn & see the driver with a balloon in his mouth! People responded quickly with disbelief. Mike - oldskoolpixels.com said: “Let’s hope that the cost of his fine hasn’t gone up with inflation.
Phil Harris added:”What a let down.” Philip Tarrant said: “Pathetic, drug driving and then crashing into a police car. I don’t suppose he is laughing now.”
