The incident happened in Market Street at around 7pm on Saturday, July 29. Officers said the victim, a man in his 30s, was punched in the head by an unknown man.
The punch left the man with a broken jaw. Chorley Police last night released two images of a man they want to speak to as part of their investigation and are asking anyone who recognises him to get in contactIn a statement, the force said: "Do you know this man? We want to speak to him after an assault in Chorley left a man with a broken jaw.
"The assault happened at about 7pm on Saturday, July 29 on Market Street in the town when the victim, a man in his 30s, was punched in the head by an unknown man.
