Officers tried to stop a Transit van driver in Wishaw before he was detained in East Kilbride.
A police helicopter captured an alleged chase between officers and a driver in Lanarkshire. Cops attempted to stop a Transit van in Wishaw at around 10am yesterday.
The vehicle was abandoned in East Kilbride shortly afterwards. The driver is alleged to have fled on foot before being arrested by cops. Speaking on X, formally known as Twitter, Police Scotland praised the work of their officers in the operation. They wrote: "The police helicopter assisted Road Policing Scotland yesterday with a lengthy vehicle pursuit from Wishaw to East Kilbride.
The man has been charged in connection with a variety of offences and is now due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Monday, August 21.
