Concerns were raised by residents
Police officers have caught some motorists travelling at speeds over 40mph in a 30-zone after concerns were raised by residents. Several motorists were stopped and slapped with an offence report as well as given education on the dangers of speeding.
According to Nottinghamshire Police, for the Mansfield District, residents in Skegby Lane and Water Lane had raised concerns over speeding. As such officers stood in the problematic streets with a speed gun and caught a number of drivers. Some were clocked at speeds above 40mph in the residential streets. Mansfield District Police says: "This afternoon the Mansfield Operation Reacher Team have attended Skegby Lane and Water Lane, Mansfield where they have been conducting a Fatal 4 Operation following concerns raised of speeding on these roads.
"Several vehicles were stopped and drivers were given words of advice about their manner of driving. Four motorists were subsequently found driving in excess of the 30mph speed limit ranging from 36-43mph and were issued with a Traffic Offence Report and given further education on the dangers of speeding."
