Police have issued a statement after closing off the road
Police cordoned off a street in Leeds on Wednesday evening after reports for the safety of two young children relating to the presence of a white van.
West Yorkshire Police were called to High Moor Avenue in Moortown in north Leeds at about 4.22pm, where they cordoned off the street and put several police cars on guard with officers seen on the scene. It came after a member of the public reported a white van in the area, giving rise to concerns for the safety of 'two young children'.The police say that after having raced to the scene and 'fully investigated', the report was a false alarm 'with good intent'.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police received a report at 4:22pm of a concern for safety involving two young children and a white van on High Moor Avenue, Leeds."Enquiries have shown that no offences have occurred and that this was a false report with good intent."
