It hit the boy and then left the scene
Police are on the hunt for an 'abandoned car' after a 12-year-old boy was injured in a hit and run in Leeds over the weekend.
The boy was knocked down by a blue Honda Civic, registration SA54OSZ, at around 9.05pm on Saturday . The driver did not stop at the scene in Woodhouse Street - between the junctions of Thomas Street and Pennington Street - and police have been unable to find the car since. The boy was rushed to hospital where he received treatment for injuries to his head, chest and legs. He has since been discharged with minor injuries.West Yorkshire Police are now appealing for information to help trace the car involved, or its owner. The driver is understood to have made off in the direction of Meanwood Road and it is thought the car could have been abandoned in either the Woodhouse or Meanwood areas of Leeds.
