Officers said they wanted to 'reassure people following reports circulating' on Thursday night
Officers said they were alerted to the incident in Whitehaven on Thursday night . They attended the Hensingham area of the town and found a 'a teenager with a replica wooden sword'.
The force has moved to reassure people about the incident and said 'there was no threat to the public'. No injuries or arrests were reported.The statement read: "We would like to reassure people following reports circulating tonight that a man had been seen in the Hensingham area of Whitehaven in public with a sword.
"Officers responded to reports and found a teenager with a replica wooden sword. There was no threat to the public."
