JUST IN: Police have released a statement
Dozens of cops swarmed an area of Mill Street in Rutherglen on Tuesday afternoon, along with three ambulances and a trauma team.
A large section of a park area near the road was taped off and officers were seen carrying out investigations.Police will remain in the area as investigations continue, and they are following positive lines of enquiry.spokesperson said: “Around 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, police attended the Mill Street area of Rutherglen, following the assault of a man.“Officers are following positive lines of enquiry and a police presence will remain in the area as the investigation continues.
“Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call police on 101, quoting incident 2113 of July 11, 2023.The Scottish Ambulance Service had earlier confirmed that they had taken a man to hospital.
