A car has been nicked after its owner left it unattended to defrost.

A letter attached to the tweet said:"If you leave a vehicle unattended with the keys in the ignition be prepared to find that your vehicle may be stolen from under your nose.

"This is an opportunist thief's dream come true and many thieves specifically target frosty mornings to steal cars."Many cars are stolen from driveways every year in Glasgow in this way. "Even if your vehicle is keyless entry and you remove keys or lock the vehicle, it can be immobilised until the engine is turned off which may be many miles from your home."Share
