'I've spoken to someone British at last,' the man told one operator

Before even getting through to police operators, the man made sexually abusive, racist and homophobic comments to BT operators on July 20, but was cut off before being connected to a police call handler.

In one call the man told the police call handler: "I've spoken to someone British at last yeah, I've just spoken to some **** ******* who doesn't ******* understand what I was saying."The man coolly admits: "I know it is, add it to the charges then, add to the ******* charges that are against me then, will you yeah, just add it to 'em yeah."At the end of the clip the man says: "All racist abuse, you can leave that to the bottom of the list, alright.

GMP's Force Contact Centre Manager Matt Hindmarch said in a statement: "Not only are these calls deeply offensive and hard to listen to, they could have blocked a number of other members of the public who could be calling 999 in a real emergency, keeping people in danger and making them waiting for longer and putting lives at risk.

"Our force contact call handlers come into work every day and strive to provide an excellent service to those calling 999 in what could be the worst day of someone’s life to help them and provide them with reassurance that our officers are on the way and responding. Call handlers should not have to endure being spoken to in this manner for doing their job.
