The suspect evaded police despite a helicopter search
The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening and he has been receiving treatment for his injuries.
The suspect evaded an “extensive” search of the area, which involved a police helicopter being called out and locals reported seeing armed police. The force are continuing to investigate. Detective Inspector Adam Conder said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have seen or heard anything in the events leading up to it to please get in contact.
“I am also particularly keen to trace a dog walker who is believed to have been in the area at the time and may have vital information that could help progress enquiries.Officers remained in the area until at least 11.30pm.
