BREAKING: Police trying to identify suspect as man left in critical condition after 'violent and frenzied' attack
Police are now trying to identify a suspect after a man was left in a critical condition following a 'violent, unprovoked and frenzied' attack in Urmston on Monday night .
The victim, aged in his 20s, was rushed to hospital with 'extremely serious injuries' and was left in a critical condition. A huge police scene remained in place on the quiet residential street overnight and throughout Tuesday .Police had initially arrested a suspect, a 42-year-old man on suspicion of attempted murder. However, has now been eliminated from the enquiries.
Anyone with any information about his identity are urged to get in touch with Greater Manchester Police as investigations into the violent attack continue.
