The divide between those for and against a bank holiday becomes apparent when the data is broken down by age range, with two-thirds of younger adults backing the idea

A poll by YouGov, carried out on Thursday, indicated marginally more adults do not think there should be a one-off bank holiday.

According to the poll of 2194 adults, 48 per cent said the Prime Minister should not call a holiday in England in the event of an historic win, compared with 41 per cent who believe he should. Among adults over the age of 65, a vast majority – 73 per cent – said there should not be a bank holiday if the lionesses win.The Labour leader said on Wednesday there “should be a celebratory bank holiday if the Lionesses bring it home”.
