Police said the driver, a 33-year-old man, 'would appear in court'
The shocking speed is said to be almost double the existing speed limit in force on the road near Northwich in leafy Cheshire.
Cheshire Police revealed details of the incident on Twitter, saying the driver would 'appear in court' without providing any further details. He's a 33-year-old man, the force later confirmed.The grey-coloured sports car was clocked along a stretch of the A556 near Lostock in Cheshire - parts of which have a 70mph speed limit.They also included an image of the electric Porsche Taycan, with the registration plate blurred out.
In a statement, Cheshire Police said: "At 6.20pm on Sunday 2 July police officers on patrol near Northwich witnessed a grey Porsche Taycan which was travelling a speeds of in excess of 120mph on the A556 near Lostock. "Police stopped the car on the A530 King Street and the driver of the car, a 33-year-old man, was issued with a summons for speeding."
