A suspicious item wrapped in a Pride flag sparked a security alert in Portrush in County Antrim, with police treating the incident as a hate crime.
It was found at Hopefield Grove on Thursday evening and people had to leave their homes for several hours during the investigation.They received the initial call about the item at 19:30 BST on Thursday.The caller said that two devices had been left at Hopefield Avenue in the town. Hopefield Crescent, Hopefield Grove and Hopefield Avenue were closed during the alert but they have since been reopened.
Detectives are urging anyone who finds anything "unusual or out of the ordinary" not to touch it but to contact the police immediately.
