A Preston city centre bar has lodged plans to transform an adjacent patch of land into a temporary beer garden 🍻
extension would be at 30-34 Avenham Street for a maximum of two years. Currently the site is derelict and was last used as a private car park.
In the planning application it states what will be done to transform the proposed site and how customers will be able to access it.The application says: “Access to the proposed site would be through a door as highlighted on the plans. This would ensure customers are not entering the beer garden from the street but instead from the existing building.
“We would look to make safe the existing fence that separates the land from Avenham Street whilst improving the look from its current sad state. Finally we would look to erect nine small booths for guests to sit in of a wooden structure. “The temporary development of the adjacent derelict site into a beer garden would have low volume amplified music and speech, or entertainment of an unplugged / acoustic variety.
“Our intention is to create an ambience conducive to its location and surroundings, which will enhance it from its current state.Plans to build temporary car park on site of former Odeon cinema in Preston city centreThe application continues: “We have initially sought guidance from Ian Massey and that of the Police and Fire Service to illicit their thoughts. All three parties were in agreeance that this would be a fantastic addition to the area.
