Evidence was also found that the electricity had been bypassed at the building in the Broadgate area

A large cannabis farm with more than 200 plants spread over five rooms was discovered after police raided a Preston building.

Officers received a tip-off from the community about the cannabis farm in the Broadgate area and gained entry to the building. They discovered the grow which spanned across five rooms. Pictures shared by police show dozens of plants in each room along with heat lamps, fans and other paraphernalia. Evidence was also found that the electricity had been bypassed.Inspector Dave Byrne from Preston’s Local Policing Team said: “The cultivation of cannabis causes misery for local communities and often funds serious and organised crime. Tampering with electricity supplies to power these cannabis farms is really dangerous.

“It can have lethal consequences for those living in neighbouring properties. We’re determined to continue to crack down on those involved in cannabis cultivation and would urge anyone who notices anything suspicious, like screened-off windows, unusual amounts of heat coming from a property and strange smells or sounds to get in touch with us.”
