Research by MoneySupermarket scored towns and cities up and down the land on a range of factors from school ratings, to things to do with the kids to the cost of childcare.16 excellent things Preston gave the world MoneySupermarket’s guide said: “With some of the country’s cheapest childcare costs, and generally having a solid performance across most major categories, Preston is the best place to raise a family in 2023.
“Whether it’s making the most of local parks or the surrounding Lancashire countryside, families in Preston won’t be short of options when it comes to getting outdoors for some fresh air and exercise. “If you’re willing to go a little further afield then Liverpool and Manchester are roughly an hour’s commute, or if you fancy a day at the beach then Blackpool is just a short drive away.”Preston had one of the cheapest childcare costs , a crime rate per of 127 per 1,000 people, a home affordability rating of 5.5 , 26% of schools rated as outstanding, 15.8 child-friendly restaurants per 10,000 people and a 3.9 score for things to do with the kids . This gave a total score of 90.3.
