Alex Greenwood was a key part of England's squad
Friends and family gathered in Bootle to watch the town's Lioness Alex Greenwood play for England in the World Cup final.
After a video call with the left-back's mum Alison, who was watching the final in Sydney, those gathered in the bar settled down for the game. Terrianne added: “Going back 20 years for her to say ‘I want to be a footballer’ - she never had another outcome for her life. That’s always been her dream. To say ‘I want to be a footballer now’, for what the girls have done for the younger generation, if another girl said that now they’d say ‘that’s normal'."
