🔴 Breaking: Prince Harry and Meghan involved in 'near catastrophic car chase,' his spokesman says
Prince Harry, his wife Meghan and her mother were in a “near catastrophic car chase” involving paparazzi photographers, a spokesperson for the prince said on Wednesday.
The spokesman said the car chase happened after Meghan and Harry had attended an awards ceremony in New York on Tuesday. “This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers,” the spokesperson for Harry said in a statement.
Harry has cited concerns that press intrusion could risk the safety of his family as one of the main reasons for stepping back from royal duties in 2020. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, the Duke compared his predicament to that faced by his mother, Princess Diana, who died aged 36 in a car crash in Paris that was partially blamed on pursuing photographers.“You know, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here, talking to you with my wife by my side because I can’t begin to imagine what it must’ve been like for her [Diana] going through this process by herself all those years ago.
