It will take place on Saturday from 1pm

A protest has been planned in Nottingham city centre with the aim of putting pressure on the government to act and help those who are struggling with the increase in the cost of living and the energy crisis. It will take place on Saturday, October 1, from 1pm until 5pm in Old Market Square

She says that the new date means that the public will have had a chance to see how much their bills are increasing which may prompt them to join the protest. There are currently over one thousand people listed as attending through the social media event "Small businesses don't have a cap on anything and speaking to my local shop owner yesterday, his energy has gone from 14 pence per kilowatt hour to 57 which is more than treble. He has to find that plus the wholesale prices which have risen by 25 percent," she explained.

This is the second protest over the cost of living increases as the first took place on Friday, August 26th at 5:30 pm outside the E.O.N offices in Trinity House. The first protest was being organised by Nottingham People's Assembly to highlight the stagnant wages yet rising costs.
