NI Road Policing team say they were alerted to the tiny black cat on the hard shoulder of the motorway by a "concerned member of the public".Read more: PSNI probe after officer's laptop and notebook 'fall from moving vehicle'An X post by NI Road Policing and Safety read that the cat was "reported by a concerned member of the public earlier this evening on the hard shoulder of the M2"."A very different set of the normal cats eyes on the motorway network.
They added that the "kitten has been placed safely". The little cat had a better outcome than a monkey which escaped from Belfast Zoo in June 2018 and died after being hit by a car on the motorway. Another animal saved from death on the 70 mph road was a dog was found running loose on the road in 2016, which was later reunited with its people.
