'Lovely gesture'
The Q Gardens at Odsal in Bradford will sell the discounted draft beer between 2.22pm and 2.44pm today, YorkshireLive reports. The pints will be sold at the same price they were when the Queen became the monarch in 1952.
The pub said it wanted to put on something special to honour the late monarch as the co-manager Sean Lowe is a fervent Royalist. Customers will be able to get the cheap beers as they watch the state service on the bar TV's this afternoon.The bar posted its plans on social media, and said: "As a sign of respect and honour to Queen Elizabeth II we will be selling our pints at 6p between 14.22 - 14.44.
"We will also be holding 2 minutes silence and showing the funeral on all of our TVs. RIP Queen Elizabeth II." Customers made light of the generous gesture on the bar's social media page, with one man quipping: "Lovely gesture. Can I reserve 14 pints please. Another said: "Raiding my piggy bank." The Entwistle Hotel, in Darwen in Lancashire, also sold pints for 6p on the day after the Queen's death was announced.
