Camilla Queen Consort has spoken about her love of a dogs and described how she adopted her two pooches from London's Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

The wife of King Charles, 73, wrote about how dogs have always been "a vital part of our lives: both as working animals; and, quite simply, as faithful friends." Speaking about adopting her dogs, Camilla said: "Beth came from a family who could no longer care for her and poor Bluebell had been found abandoned in the woods, three weeks old, starving, covered in sores, with a docked tail and just a few patches of fur.

The royal family was known for their love of the small house dogs, and the Queen was surrounded by them since she was a little girl.
