The Queen took comfort in watching Line of Duty to "keep her spirits up" after Prince Philip's death, it has been revealed.
In 'Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait', it's revealed the former monarch took solace in watching television, particiularly dramas like Line of Duty in a bid to "keep her spirits up."According to the new book, however, she sometimes struggled to keep up with the plot and disliked the constant "mumbling" on it and other programmes.
An article in the Sunday Times last year highlighted the Queen's love for the popular police series, with Elizabeth enjoying discussing the plot's twists and turns with one of her closest aides, master of the household Vice-Admiral Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt, during her self-isolating at Windsor Castle during the pandemic.
A royal source told The Sunday Times: “The Queen was very into Line of Duty and enjoyed discussing the plotlines with Tony.”
