The Las Vegas Raiders completed their deal with Jimmy Garoppolo on Friday after postponing his introductory news conference. jeffphowe, tashanreed and VicTafur break down the contract and the strange sequence of events.
Despite not providing a specific reason for why Garoppolo’s news conference was postponed, the team through a spokesperson did confirm Garoppolo’s press conference would take place on Friday.
While playing with the 49ers in a game against the Dolphins on Dec. 4, 2022, Garoppolo suffered a foot injury in the first quarter. Initially, he was expected to undergo season-ending surgery for a Lisfranc foot injury. On Dec. 6, however, ESPN reported that Garoppolo didn’t suffer a Lisfranc foot injury and could return to action sometime in January. However, he didn’t return to action at any point during the regular season or the playoffs.
