The RMT union announced another day of strikes will take place on October 8 in the ongoing dispute over pay, jobs and conditions. It will follow already planned strike action on October 1 and 5.

Previous industrial action by workers has led to widespread travel chaos for rail users over the summer, with the dispute having a significant knock-on impact for Scottish trains, despite ScotRail not being directly involved.Train passengers have previously been warned to expect significant disruption following the previous strikes.
