The New Broomfield assistant boss has fond memories in the competition and wants to take a step closer to the final against the young Gers tonight
Airdrie assistant boss Callum Fordyce won the SPFL Trust Trophy during his time at Livingston and says the competition represents a great opportunity for him to repeat that feat with the Diamonds this season.
The defender scored in Livi's 4-0 final win over Alloa in 2015 and it remains the only competition he has won as a player. Tonight, Airdrie hope to take a step closer to silverware when they face Rangers B at Cappielow in a fourth round tie, knowing they face a return to the same venue to face Morton on November 18 in the quarter-finals if they make it through."I was lucky enough to win it when I was at Livingston.
Rangers B have knocked out League Two sides Spartans and Stenhousemuir, as well as League One Alloa on their cup run so far. Fordyce added: "It will be a tough game. Rangers B are full of good young players who are trying to make their way in the game and impress to get into the mix for the first team."It will be an exciting game for the players and one that we will relish. All the latest sport news in Lanarkshire Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onX via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
