Former wife Miriam Wylie yesterday told how arrangements were being made to plant a cherry blossom tree in a popular site in Scotland that Goram cherished.
Rangers legend Andy Goram’s loved ones are set to mark the first anniversary of his death by planting a tree at his favourite beauty spot. His family and friends revealed the tribute prior to the first anniversary of his death tomorrow.
But the pair remained friends and she helped care for him as he fought his illness. Goram passed away on what would have been their 21st wedding anniversary. Miriam added: “Danny was so proud of his dad and last year was tough for him and Chelsea, so there’s no doubt Andy will be remembered on the day.”
He was surrounded by loved ones including ex-Gers teammates John Brown and Ally McCoist at St Andrew’s Hospice in Airdrie. Nine-In-A-Row hero Goram signed for Rangers for £1million in 1991. He went on to win five league titles, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
