Martin Myles is facing a lengthy prison sentence after a jury found him guilty today.

A thug who sexually assaulted and beat a woman so badly she almost died has been convicted of rape and attempted murder.

Martin Myles left the woman in agony and begging for help following the horror attack.The 39 year-old denied being violent and claimed the victim was instead injured following a fight with two other women. Myles, of Airdrie, now faces a lengthy jail-term after being convicted by a jury at the High Court in Glasgow.He had been on bail but was remanded in custody pending sentencing next month.She also suffered at his violent hands with her being described as "covered in bruises".He was convicted of raping and attempting to murder the woman April 25 and 26, 2020, and of a separate rape charge, assault as well as acting in a threatening and abusive manner.
