An application has been submitted for a disused building to be used for a school’s activities.
St Margaret’s School in Merry Hill Road, Bushey, wants to turn its chapel, which is on the school’s grounds, into a dance studio.
In the planning application, the school said the chapel has not been used for religious worship for a number of years and has been described as “redundant”. The school added: “The ability to use the chapel as a dance studio would be of considerable benefit to the students at the school, providing a valuable asset in the range of activities offered by this continually developing educational facility.”If approved, the organ will be retained, but all but one of the pews will be removed as well as the pulpit and lectern.
