Rescue teams were alerted this morning at 6.15am.
Rescue teams are searching the coast around Ardrossan's Clyde Marina following the report of a missing person.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police are carrying out a search of the water at Clyde Marina, Ardrossan following a report last night of a missing person."
