Morecambe retirement home 'where residents are at risk of fire and falls'
A retirement home in Morecambe has been told to seriously improve after putting its residents at risk of falls and safety issues.

A door between a high-risk zone and communal areas, where people sat did not have a closure or fire resistance to protect people in the event of a fire.
Information about people's health needs, including diabetes, were not always recorded. Agency care staff were unable to access people's electronic care records and use this information to inform how they provided people's care and support. Medicines were not always stored in-line with guidance to ensure they were safe for use. Fridge temperature records had not identified an issue with the fridge being above the permitted range for a period of five months.
Concluding the report, inspectors rated the leadership of the home to be Inadequate. Systems were not in place and well-established to support the monitoring and improvement of the service.
