The work is expected to carry on until January next year
Roadworks around a Nottingham village are having a major impact on traffic, according to residents and people who work there. Significant work is being undertaken on the A60, Loughborough Road in Ruddington at the junctions of Kirk Lane and Flawforth Lane and is expected to last until at least January 2024.
“People were doing some crazy things [to leave the business park]. They were driving along the pavement. They were driving along the other side of the road. People were parking on both sides of the road. There was just this carnage. It was so unpleasant.” “It’s just a displacement [issue]. Instead of waiting an hour and a half, two hours to get on the estate, which is literally less than half a mile, people are displacing. You’ll find there’s cars all over Ruddington. People are parking in Bradmore and cycling in. People are parking down by the Esso garage and running in. People are being really creative.”
Via East Midlands is overseeing the project on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council and the renovations are scheduled to be carried out 24 hours a day.
