Fabio Di Giannantonio admits he wished Gresini weren’t so quick to sign Marc Marquez for the 2024 MotoGP season, after securing his first-ever premier class podium.
In the form of his life after a P4 finish at Mandalika, Di Giannantonio went one better during the Australian MotoGP as he claimed 3rd behind Johann Zarco and Francesco Bagnaia.
“Overall, it was a great performance. We have been fast all weekend and we have been consistent all race. After catching Binder and eventually overtaking the KTM rider, Di Giannantonio was part of a four-rider group that caught race leader Jorge Martin.Zarco: “Was important to attack to not be attacked”, first MotoGP win ‘special’
But Di Giannantonio will not be part of the Gresini line-up next season after being replaced by Marquez, a move which he thinks came about too quickly given his current run of results.
