A win could also see McIlroy return to World Number One but to do that he must get ahead of Scottie Scheffler who sits in first place at 11 under par.Despite his putter woes this season, Scheffler still remains the top golfer in the world and fired a six-under-par third round and is tied at the top alongside 2022 US Open Champion Matt Fitzpatrick.McIlroy will tee it up alongside Viktor Hovland at 6.28pm today and it has been a solid opening three days for the four-time major winner.
Seamus Power is unlikely to make next week's Tour Championship as he sits in 48th place in the BMW Championship at 12 over par. If Power is to qualify he would be guaranteed a minimum of $500,000 with the winner getting some $18,000,000.
