Man United have had a difficult start to the season but Roy Keane might have the solution to their problems.
The degradation of the side in the opening games has been concerning and completely zapped all the optimism that was built over Erik ten Hag's first season in charge. The team has seemingly gone back to its default setting of frail, undisciplined and lacklustre.
Jadon Sancho and Antony are both missing for off-the-field issues but Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Mason Mount, Harry Maguire, Sofyan Amrabat, Rasmus Hojlund, Amad, Tom Heaton, Tyrell Malacia and Kobbie Mainoo have all spent time on the sidelines.READ MORE: United's midfield revamp has been completed but is yet to get started
Ten Hag has only been able to name an unchanged starting XI on two occasions and never for more than two successive matches. Given the change of play the Dutchman is trying to implement with the roles of new signings Mount, Hojlund and Andre Onana, it's impossible for the side to get settled when it's constantly changing.
"The win against Liverpool has given them a big boost, he’s got a settled team - same starting 11 for the last three games. A couple of clean sheets, the last couple of performances haven’t been great, efficient, I like the look of the team now.That has been an impossibility this season because of the continuous injuries but there was at least progress on Saturday with a hard-fought win over Burnley. United were far from brilliant but they dug in, worked hard and picked up an important win.
